  • What is SecureCode™?

    MasterCard® SecureCode™ is a simple and secure way to pay online. Adding a password to your existing IndusInd Bank MasterCard® credit card ("IndusInd Bank card") issued by IndusInd Bank("IndusInd Bank"), SecureCode™ enhances your existing MasterCard® account by protecting you against unauthorized use of your IndusInd Bank card to make purchases over the internet. It’s easy to activate for your existing IndusInd Bank MasterCard® card, and it’s free.


    How does SecureCode™work?

    SecureCode™ provides you with the ability to attach a password to your existing card to protect your online transactions, just like your PIN at an ATM. Here's how it works:

    1. Select the goods or services you want from a SecureCode™ online store and proceed to the payment page.

    2. Enter the payment details requested including your IndusInd Bank card number.

    3. The online store connects with IndusInd Bank e-Secure Service site to check whether your card is secured with SecureCode™.

    4. A SecureCode™ pop-up window will appear on your computer screen showing the merchant name, amount, date, your IndusInd Bank card number and the IndusInd Bank welcome message.

    5. You then check that the details mentioned on the page are correct, and enter your password. IndusInd Bank will then confirm your identity to the merchant.

    6. Your payment will be authorized, the transaction will be completed as usual and your order will be placed.

    How does SecureCode™ protect me?

    Since your IndusInd Bank card is protected by your personal password, only you can use your IndusInd Bank card to make purchases online.

    How do I register my IndusInd Bank card for the facility?

    You need to register for the service through the IndusInd Bank website www.indusind.com or you can do so while shopping. You can register for the facility by using your card expiry date, CVV and date of birth for authenticating yourself. On successful authentication you will receive an authorization code on your mobile number and email address registered with us. Using this code you can set your IndusInd Bank e-Secure password and complete the registration process. In case you have not registered your mobile number or email address with us, please do so by contacting our Phone Banking number 1860 500 5004 / +91-22-44066666.

    Can I register with my existing IndusInd Bank card?

    Yes, you can register with MasterCard® SecureCode™ using your existing IndusInd Bank card. You don't need to apply for a new card.

    What do I do when I’m issued a new card?

    If your new IndusInd Bank card is a renewal card (same number as the old one) you don’t have to do anything to stay registered.

    If, however, your IndusInd Bank card number changes, you will need to re-register in the program with your new card number & details.

    Can I register with more than one IndusInd Bank card?

    Yes, you can register with any of your IndusInd Bank cards.

    Can I register my non-MasterCard payment cards with SecureCode™?

    Currently, SecureCode™ is only offered to protect MasterCard® credit cards. For other cards, please check with the relevant service provider.

    Do I need any special equipment or software?

    You need is an Internet connection and Internet Explorer 5.0 and above. To find out if your browser is compatible, go to the "Help" menu in the upper right of your browser and select the "About" option. It should tell you what version is installed on your computer.
    However you need to have your mobile number and email address registered with IndusInd Bank to receive the authorization code which is required to successfully complete the registration process.     After I register, how long does it take for SecureCode™ to start working?

    The added protection of SecureCode™ is available as soon as your registration is confirmed successful by IndusInd Bank.

    Where can I shop with SecureCode™?

    Look for the SecureCode™ mark on participating online stores or check the list of current participants on your local MasterCard website.

    How will the online store know that I have signed up with SecureCode™?

    Participating online stores will automatically recognize your IndusInd Bank card number if it is registered.

    What should I do if I am shopping online and I don’t get asked for my SecureCode™ password?

    You can simply enter your payment details as normal and complete your transaction. It may mean that the merchant is not yet enrolled in the SecureCode™ service. It is recommended that you transact online with trusted retailers only.

    What if I forget my password?

    If you forget your password, you may reset your password (create a new password) after entering your credit card number, and answering the security question that was set by you during registration on the IndusInd Bank website.

    What if I forget my password and have not set the security question?

    If you forget your password and have not set the security question,
    If you hold an IndusInd Bank Master credit card, you will have to re-authenticate yourself by using your credit card expiry date,CVV and your date of birth. On successful authentication you will receive an authorization code on your mobile number and email address registered with us. Using this code you can re-create your password and set your security question.     What should I do if I think that someone has my password?

    Please visit the IndusInd Bank website at www.indusind.com to change your password immediately.

    What if there has been a delay in receiving the Authorization code on my mobile/email address?

    In case there has been a delay in receiving the authorization code on your registered mobile number and email address; you can use the ‘Already Received an Auth Code’ section on the IndusInd Bank e-Secure homepage and input your card number and the authorization code to complete your registration or to re-create your IndusInd Bank e-Secure password.

    In case I have forgotten my password, can I use the same authorization code used earlier for registering, to recreate my password?

    An authorization code if used earlier to register for IndusInd Bank e-Secure cannot be used again to re-create the IndusInd Bank e-Secure password, you will have to click on the forgot password link and re-authenticate yourself to re-create your personal IndusInd Bank e-Secure password

    Can I get the benefit of SecureCode™ security at online stores that are not participating in the service?

    No. However a number of online stores have the service available to them. In the meantime, if an online store you trust is not yet participating, follow safe shopping tips to complete your purchases online.

    What happens if I shop at a SecureCode™ merchant website while I’m not registered for this feature?

    You will be prompted for online registration for SecureCode™ during shopping.

    If you hold an IndusInd Bank card, you would need to authenticate yourself with your card expiry date, CVV, Date of Birth. On successful authentication you will receive an authorization code on your mobile number and email address registered with us. Using this code you can create your personal IndusInd Bank e-Secure password. Thereafter, you can continue shopping on the merchant website.
